On Tuesday July 26, 2007, at 10:00 am, the Public Safety Committee (San Francisco, City Hall, Rm 263) is holding a hearing to discuss the MOU between the SF Police Officer’s Association and the City of San Francisco. Why is this important? Because at a time where Mayor Newsom is cutting services that are desperately needed by countless San Franciscans, he is offering the SFPD a 24.5% raise with amounts to a staggering amount of $ 80,000.00. Does the SFPD truly deserve a raise when the violent crime rate is skyrocketing and the SFPD does not seem poised to do much about it?
This is just one of the reasons why you must take time to attend the hearing and to realize the promise of Proposition H. The best way we can do this is for all of you and your friends to take time on Tuesday morning to attend the committee hearing and make your voice heard by the Board of Supervisors so that they can do their job and SEND IT BACK to the Mayor.
If you cannot attend Tuesday’s hearing, please take some time to email committee members with “SEND IT BACK!” as the subject line to express your concerns:

Why do we keep coming up with five?
I don’t believe the amount of so called gang violence is all gang related.
(At lease not Black youth gangs. Hear me out.)
Who is it that keeps telling the Black comunity that our children are killing each other?
Where is the proof.(Yes, you have a dead body and a cops word that it’s a gang related death.That’s it)
Does ANYONE remember why The Black Panther Party was formed in Oakland in the first place?
Does anyone realize that the Black comunity is so spooked behind this so called gang violence that we are going to city hall meetings Begging for more police in the comunity?!
Does anyone see this as a case of the fox protecting the henhouse?
There needs to be a thorough investigation of passed and future murders.
And some of you computer wiz’ out there need to develope a program that will contain information about All the so called gang murders (time date place, etc) and find the pattern because there is one. And once you find the pattern, you come closer to finding the perpetrator(s)
Please stop accepting two and two as being five.
These are our children, our brothers that are being accused of these crimes.
I don’t believe our children are angels but niether am I going to accept that they are doing stuff because the cops say they are doing it. (Especially cops with a rep for hating me and my children.)
