The dust has settled. Bugs have been ironed out. New photos have been uploaded. Ella Baker Center's brand new website is finally live!
We've been hard at work the last few months re-making Ella Baker Center's presence on the web. This isn't just a minor tweaking of the way the site works. This is a top-to-bottom rethinking, reorganizing, with a new technology under the hood and a more modern, streamlined look.
Here are a few things we hope you'll like:
The centerpiece of our homepage are big, bold pictures of the work of Ella Baker Center, calling your attention to current ways you can get involved.
Ella's Voice was once just a small piece of our website. Now, blog posts are integrated throughout the site -- on the home page, on campaign pages, even on our staff profile pages.
We've made it easier for you to share content that you like through your social networks. Just look for the icons for Facebook, Twitter, Google + and more throughout the site.
All the news about Ella Baker Center -- press releases, articles about Ella Baker Center, and op eds are all now easily located in our In the News page.
Our old site had a lot of cool tools and resources, but they were hard to find. Our new Resources page has a whole collection tools, including Making Green Work, a tool to help Move Your Money out of the big banks, and more. Stay tuned for new tools coming soon.
You can dig deeper into each of our campaigns: Books Not Bars, Green-Collar Jobs Campaign, Heal the Streets and Soul of the City. But you can also find out about all the work that we're doing in Oakland and across California in one easy place.
Powering all of this is Drupal, an open source content management system with lots of new features and capabilities. We're excited to keep building and exploring the capabilities. Stay tuned in the coming months as we continue to make improvements.
And a big thanks to Aeronet Communications
, who designed and developed the site. Without their help, patience and perserverance, none of this would be possible.
